Finished the base lighting system. Helps with

1. Story, the town has power issues, power being down will be noticeable
2. day/night will be noticeable
3. seems to add a bit of depth to the room, even with test shapes

IOC Update: More foliage added, and imported all dinosaur models. A few hours on this area, and ill be moving to Blood Valley. Unity 6 HDRP is very forgiving and scales well, with gpu culling and resident drawer, performance is no longer a big issue.

Once you've painted a variety of meta tiles, you can manage their visibility across multiple layers with the newly added "Global" toggle. I hope this proves useful in visualizing different areas of your tilemap!

For a while now, I've had a "dig" feature in my game's dungeon building mode. I'm still not sure how to make it meaningful to the player. So far, it makes the path longer for enemies, but then what? Traps? Ore? Pre-placed rooms to dig to?

Created a shader that "chonkifies" geometry. Came up with a tighter way to extend vertices in screen space with no overdraw per source triangle.

Going to use this for physics and have each pixel be its own little spherecast.

As I expanded this area with a layer of underground rooms, I ran into some problems. If the player falls down, they have to go through all the underground rooms again. So I came up with a solution that was right in front of my eyes due to remnants of the old geometry. #gamedev #indiegame #isometric

#GameDev Problems: I haven't been too happy with my game's text box layout. The 160x144 resolution is very restrictive, and it's hard to tell who's talking if there's 3+ characters onscreen. 😵‍

A disappointing statistic:
Linux and macOS combined account for less than 3% of copies sold. Even with Steam Deck support (though without Valve’s official approval, since they never reviewed the game), the numbers remain low. It’s unfortunate, but just not worth the effort.

Made item icons for 14 the new farmable crops that will be added to Cosmic Construct. Need some of these for the new biome.
