After a lot of thinking, I've decided to delay #GravityStorm release, idk for how long yet, maybe be 2 weeks or 2 months.

I didn't think about the time it takes to find content creators, make music, and playtest.

Better to have a finished game at least a month before release

it can convert midi to guitar tabs in text form
with the help of AI
I hijacked the code and now it also outputs a time table very similar to what I used for my drum kicking rig. It has time, string and fret data for each note.

More progress for #screenshotsaturday. Took a while to figure out how I wanted to handle some decorative water caustics and I'm no shader wizard. Had to get creative with layered, parallaxing viewports in #GodotEngine. Also my water is done!

Oh what a fool i've been. I could've just applied the texture to these assets right off the bat.

Obviously the UVs were baked into the model 🤦

I've been selecting faces and assigning new materials in blender for every model in the pack.

I spent a lot of time figuring out moving lasers in my #RPGMaker project. Turning the stationary ones on and off was pretty simple switches, but retaining where they were after changing movement speed was more challenging. The player's knocked back when they collide with a laser.

I created a sight mechanic in my #RPGMaker project where you have to sneak around and avoid being spotted. If you're within 2 spaces from them, they spot you and you must restart the puzzle. I made use of loops to streamline this code across all events of this type.

This mission is arguably the closest thing you'll get to puzzle platforming in a turn-based tactical game. Lots of carefully planned moves, with a less predictable segment at the end to enforce some improvisation.

How we made a map that was 4 million tiles and allowed us to create something cohesive that matched our vision.

The map is a 2000x2000 grid played in the style of games such as rimworld, dwarf fortress etc.

Buildings can be walkable and unwalkable.

So I was recording some footage for the devlog, showing the new bullet collision check optimizations... But it was just too funny with 25 thousand bullets being shot per shot.

Especially when enemies "cut" a hole in the bullet swarm haha

I’ve always been interested in dark fantasy. Or fantasy in general.

Zelda started my love for it. Final Fantasy solidified my love for it.

That’s why my game A King’s Genocide and the sequel are a dark fantasy tale.

If it’s not a love letter to the genre, I failed.

Breaking pixel art animations into multiple sprites displayed together to add versatility in what they can depict at any given moment - like reloading a weapon while jumping. So, using one AnimationPlayer and code, each animation controls 2 or more AnimatedSprite2D nodes.

Very happy with this #ue5 camera effect. The core of this game is stealth and avoiding blandly murderous corporate #AI robots, so a scouting tool is required, and this turned out to be surprisingly quick to implement!

adding some effects to hacking connections, worked on UI. Made some changes to the scripting as well. for loops now use "@" symbol instead of "!". Functions now stored as vars, can be passed to other functions.

Added a small "Miasma" indicator around the edges of the screen when an Area is not cleared to help communicate that you can't leave yet.

So work on #RememberYourOath has really, seriously, impacted how I see Concept Art in game dev.

I’ve always known how important it is for reference, but I did not realize how jarring different it is to design something from a specific work, and something from mind space.

Artificial gravity device. I've wanted to do this for a long time and when I started, I realized that it's not that simple in Unreal Engine. When gravity is changes, it tells objects about it, which activate Set Timer by Even - Add Force ⬇️ Do you do that?

Just tackled connecting the money system to the UI and migrated all that data from the Pawn to the GameInstance! Now I’m pulling the saved-up cash data directly from the Instance and throwing it into the interface. The desktop version is finally playable!

I was having trouble with Readability on mobile platforms, so with the latest #5thCataclysm #UI Patch, I spent a lot of time enlarging each card while also improving the fanning logic so I don't have to impose a max hand size.

Robotech was one of my fav series to watch growing up. One thing that stuck with me was the volley of missiles which flew in multiple directions toward a target (called Itano Circus). I replicated some of that using bézier curves in C# for the rocket shotgun in Age of Rust.
