So I did a neat thing in #GodotEngine I made it so my networking is mod-able now, the idea is, they generate a node, are added to a dictionary and used using callbacks, this way, i can add new functions (or make mods), and it be super simple to integrate!

Instead of directly painting the meta tiles on the canvas, you can also embed them in the spritesheet tiles. Henceforth, when you paint that particular spritesheet tile, you'll also simultaneously paint the meta tile. Two birds with one stone!

I decided to move about half the level gems into these crates for 2 reasons:

1. To give the player more things to do inside the level sandbox.

2. Too many visible collectibles in the first level would overwhelm new players.

#gamedev #godot I just had a thought that’s been bugging me a bit… The more I look at my GDD, the more I have to face the fact that Construct 3 is going to become too hard to maintain for this project. I’m going to have to switch to Godot 4 and rewrite the parts I’ve already developed.

Just implemented the 3d chunk system for my game (previously only had a single chunk lol).
Atm you can only see this by the fact that the world is now 32x16x16 instead of 16x16x16 😅
But it allows me to now add infinite worlds, which is the next step ^^
