Meta tiles allow you to encode backend data simply by painting. For example, this patch of "wood floor" meta tiles represents the area of this saloon that characters can navigate during gameplay. #godotengine#gamedev#indiegame
While experimenting with colour correction, I accidentally created a cool effect. It shifts around the trees as you move, which is pretty awesome, but it's not what I intended.

Okay time dilation works now. things slow down the closer they get and time outside will appear faster the closer you are to the black hole.

It's Thursday, so I have a new video (of old dev highlights)! Here I discover the collision polygon, which is great for quickly adding collision in my 2.5D plaformer, Fist of the Forgotten. Also some concept art and sound chaos, as usual.
Some #GameDev update things:
1. Generating veneration of living mortals seems pretty easy; the process is near identical to generating gods. Of course, I'm doing all these generations with more controlled parameters, so I'm eager to try this with the training wheels off. #godotengine#indiedev
I do not see dropped projects as wasted time since I normally develop code or experience I can use in other projects. Here I reused the noclip code from dropped FPS game. #GodotEngine#GameDev
Now we've got the veneration of entire families; either due to true supernatural powers, tradition of veneration, ancestry to a divine being, or maybe a family that just got lucky, we can generate a revered bloodline. Kinda want more synonyms for "family" though lol #gamedev#indiedev#godotengine
Ever needed some handy tools in Godot to add normals or make your texture seamless? We too! So we created a TextureTools plugin for our internal workflow, and we are now opening it up for everyone to use.
Alright, objects of worship are now generated without me hand-holding. As you can see here, we have a trio of ancestor spirits, as well as a dualism between two forces; Ae and Xae. Really lucked out with the names there lol #GodotEngine#GameDev#IndieDev

More shaders ! I added a smooth wave animation to make shores a bit more interesting and add movement to this static planet. Also added noise to slightly move ocean water, making the sun's reflection also more interesting ! #GodotEngine#GameDev
